Agreement
By using Patina, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
What Patina does
Patina is a Mac app that helps you stay organized using an AI assistant. It can connect to third-party services like Google Calendar, Gmail, and messaging apps to give you context about your life.
Your data
You own your data. Patina stores files locally on your device in a folder you control. You can export, move, or delete your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Third-party services
Patina connects to third-party APIs (Google, Anthropic, Google Gemini, OpenAI, OpenRouter, GitHub, Beeper, and configured MCP services) on your behalf. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms. Patina is not responsible for the availability or behavior of third-party services.
Fair use of Patina AI plans
Patina Basic ($30/month) and Patina Pro ($60/month) include monthly AI usage governed by a fair-use policy. Basic is intended for lighter everyday use, and Pro includes more room for heavier chat, richer context pulls, and more frequent automations. We use daily safeguards inside the app to prevent scripted abuse and keep model spend predictable; most subscribers will never encounter them.
The Lifetime License is different: it does not include a Patina AI usage budget. Lifetime License users run Patina with their own Claude Code, Anthropic, OpenAI, or compatible provider account, and any provider usage, limits, or charges are handled by that provider account.
If your legitimate use approaches or exceeds the ceiling, we'd rather raise your limit than block you. Email hello@patina.md and we'll work it out.
We reserve the right to suspend, rate-limit, or terminate accounts showing patterns of automated abuse, including but not limited to: scripted high-volume API traffic, sharing credentials across users or devices for non-personal use, or using Patina AI plans to resell access to the underlying model provider.
Billing, trials, cancellation, refunds, and taxes
Patina uses Stripe for checkout, subscription management, invoices, and payment processing. Patina Basic and Patina Pro are monthly subscriptions. They include a 7-day free trial when offered in checkout. If you start a trial, you authorize Patina to charge the payment method you provide at the plan price shown in checkout when the trial ends, unless you cancel before the trial ends. After the trial, subscriptions renew monthly until canceled.
You can manage or cancel a subscription from Patina's Manage Plan screen, which opens Stripe's customer portal, or by emailing hello@patina.md. Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless the subscription is canceled earlier because of abuse, payment failure, or a legal requirement, you normally keep access through the end of the then-current paid billing period. Lifetime License purchases are one-time purchases and do not renew.
Payments are generally non-refundable and we do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law or where we decide otherwise in a specific case. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact hello@patina.md with the account email and charge date so we can review it.
Prices are listed before any applicable taxes, duties, or similar government charges unless checkout says otherwise. You are responsible for taxes associated with your purchase, and Stripe may calculate, collect, or show taxes during checkout or invoicing when required or configured.
Support
Support is available by email at hello@patina.md. We'll make a good-faith effort to respond and help, but Patina does not include a guaranteed response time, uptime commitment, or dedicated support SLA unless we separately agree to one in writing.
No warranty
Patina is provided as-is. We don't guarantee it will be available, error-free, or meet your specific needs. Use it at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Patina and its creator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
